Get as close to 21 as possible

Black Jack resembles the game "21" og and is also said to originate from the French game “vingt-et-un” (twenty-and-one). This game further developed in the 19th century America into the game that is now found in casinoes all over the world: Black Jack.

Black Jack is played with six decks of 52 cards. All players play against the bank and the objective is to come closer to 21 than the bank.

Aces have the value of one or eleven, facecards the value of 10 and other cards has the printed value.

Black Jack rules

All players receive 2 cards (Known as: a hand) and the bank receives one card. All players in turn then have to make one of the following choices:

Stand - the player chooses to continue the game with the two cards dealt initially

Card - the player chooses to try and improve the hand by receiving another card

Split - if the player has two cards of the same value, the player may choose to split the two cards into two separate hands. This is done by betting extra - equal to the original bet. The player will then receive a new "second" card and may choose action again

Double - if the player's first two cards have a combined value of 9, 10 or 11, the player may choose to double the original bet. If so, the player will only receive one more card.

Rules continued

When all players' have made their choices, the dealer will draw cards for the bank.

This is done following strict rules: When the bank has 16 or less it will receive another card. When the bank has 17 or more the bank will stay.

After this, winning bets are paid 1:1, losing bets are removed and Black Jack combinations (Ace + 10 or Ace + facecard on the first two cards) are paid 3:2. Hands with the same total as the bank's will "push" and the bet goes back to the player.
